Kataro Shirayamadani for Rookwood Pottery early floral ewer decorated in standard glaze with hand painted daisies and black pansies over a brown ground with raised moriage detailing to daisies. There is also a wonderful subtle incised pattern in black over the brown ground. Excellent condition with professional restoration to hairline at opening and even crazing throughout. Fully signed under base with incised artist cipher and impressed "RP" factory mark with 2 flames. Also marked with impressed form number “62”. “R” for red clay and “D”. Cincinnati, Ohio. Circa 1888. 6.75”d x 5”h. $1200.
